How old do you have to be to attend Coop-Tech?

A:

Students must be 17-21 years of age to register.

Do I have to be in school in order to attend?

A:

You must be either in 11th or 12th grade or a post grad.

Are you a transfer High School?

A:

No. Coop-Tech is a vocational program where can get 3 elective credits for one class. You must be enrolled in a Department of Education High School or HS2 program.

Is there a cost?

A:

There is no fee. We are a Department of Education School.

I'm in school. Do I receive credit?

A:

Students will receive 3 elective credits per semester on their transcripts.

How long is a semester?

A:

Fall semesters are from September - January; Spring semesters are from February - June.

What is the class schedule?

A:

Students attend classes Monday - Friday from 8:30 am - 11:00 am or from 12:30 pm - 3:00pm. Sites other than the main site may have different hours, please check with the guidance counselor or administrator.

What do I receive after I finish a program?

A:

Students receive a certificate of completion.

Q:

Do you help students find a job?

A:

We offer job and intern opportunities, students must be referred by their teacher for recommendations based on their performance in class.

How many classes can I take?

A:

One course a semester, either in the AM session or the PM session.

Q:

Do you have to take a test in order to attend Coop-Tech?

A:

No testing is required for registration. Students of the age of 17 years should have at least 10 credits and be on track to graduate.

How do I apply?

A:

In order to apply to Coop Tech, applicants must be 17-21 years old and either in high school (11th-12th grades only), a D79 Program or have already graduated. Faxed applications will not be processed.

Do you have adult classes?

A:

It's a separate program you have to contact mid-Manhattan adult learning center located at 212 West 120th st New York, NY 10027. Telephone is (212) 666-1919 or 1920.

I have an I.E.P. Can I attend?

A:

Yes, we accept students who have with I.E.P.
